History

In 1932, Walter H. Beech left a management position with Curtiss-Wright Corporation to begin designing and manufacturing aircraft in Wichita, Khan., With his wife and business partner, Olive Ann Beech. While many warned that there was no cabin biplane market with luxury during the Great Depression, the two supervisors went ahead with their plans to build “world-class airplanes” and changed the standard airline.

It started with the BEECHCRAFT Model 17 biplane by 200 miles per hour known as Stagger wing, hundreds of which were sold to U.S. citizens and soldiers and made the Beech’s vision alive. Their philosophy was about quality, advanced technology, customer satisfaction, and business integrity: a philosophy that has survived to this day. The team developed and manufactured many other notable and similar aircraft before Walter's death in 1950, which includes the Beechcraft BONANZA piston, which is the world's longest-running aircraft. Walter's death did not stop the company, however, as Olive Ann became president and CEO until Raytheon Company bought it in 1980.

Throughout the mid--to mid-late 20th century, Beechcraft was regarded as one of the "Big Three" in the field of general aviation manufacturing components and making products that set industry standards. The years would come with some mergers and acquisitions, but the name and its parts Beechcraft never lost its value, growing exponentially after Textron bought the company and merged with one of its biggest competitors, Cessna Aircraft Company. The Beechcraft brand is known for its timeless piston products and the famous KING AIR line of turboprops having the best Beechcraft aircraft parts. The Beechcraft brand is established in the market as a product that carries rugged, durable aircraft supported by unparalleled customer loyalty. The legacy of the great red Beechcraft “B” still exists to this day and is a symbol of excellence in a united world of skilled aircraft.
